2000 Ferrari 456M GTA

While most Ferrari models are two-seaters, the 456M holds four, with the usual front buckets and a cozy two-place rear seat. Unlike the 360 Modena, which has a mid-engine design, the 456M’s V-12 engine sits in the front. Ferrari describes the 456M as a “2+2 berlinetta” — the numbers denote the seating arrangements, and berlinetta is Italian for “little sedan,” what is commonly called a coupe.
“Whether you look at it, sit in it or drive it, it all adds up to one simple fact: The 456 is the greatest grand tourer the world has ever seen.” This was Ferrari’s first true four-seat model since the 412.
In 1998 came the Ferrari 456 M GT and GTA. The “M” was for modificata, and marked revised coachwork with new bumpers, a crisper edge along the front fenders, and an updated interior. Clients also had the option of customizing the car with Ferrari’s new Carrozzeria Scaglietti program. The M closed out the Ferrari 456 GT run in 2003. The line was in production 11 years, confirming the strength of Pininfarina’s original shape, and how well Ferrari had designed and engineered the car.

A true four-seater coupé, the 456 GT was also the first modern Ferrari to revert to a front engine, rear-wheel drive layout, with the gearbox in unit with the rear differential for ideal weight distribution as well as plenty of space for passengers and luggage.
The tailoring process has also been applied to many leather interior details, such as the steering wheel, the door trims and the rear parcel shelf. The seats are characterised by micro-perforated leather to the central part, whilst the crimson stitching contributes to the even more personalised style of the interior.
